Captivate Events runs Super Fund of the Year Awards

Captivate Events is proud to have facilitated Momentum Media and Super Review’s annual Super Fund of the Year Awards, which included a lavish award ceremony to recognise the 21 winners.

The awards were staged as a black-tie gala on Thursday, 31 October 2024 at the Grand Hyatt, Melbourne, in an event befitting the best in the super fund sector. The prestigious awards recognised the top super funds, trustees, institutions, and executives, as well as boutique challengers and the rising stars of tomorrow.

The event secured 300 attendees from the super fund and financial services industry, who networked with leaders and peers while celebrating the achievements of the industry’s best. 

Captivate organised Australian stand-up comedian, actor, television and radio presenter Dave Thornton as emcee, who provided light and laughter throughout the evening.

Aware Super won this year’s Fund of the Year award, with the industry superannuation fund also walking away with three other awards earlier throughout the evening. Other company winners include Australian Retirement Trust as MySuper of the Year, HESTA as Net Benefit, and Australian Ethical Super as Sustainable Fund of the Year. UniSuper, Colonial First State, Hostplus, Brighter Super, NGS Super, TelstraSuper, legalsuper, CareSuper, and Rest rounded out the company winners. 

In the individual categories, Linda Cunningham of Cbus Super walked away with the Industry Thought Leader of the Year award, while Commonwealth Superannuation Corporation’s Matthew Wong was named Marketer of the Year.
